I'm Corey DeCraene, a multi-disciplinary creative with a passion for blending retro aesthetics with modern design trends.
Most recently, as a co-creative director and co-founder of Craene Studio + Archive, I focused my energy on sustainable fashion, using innovative tie-dye techniques and curated vintage collections to breathe new life into secondhand apparel. Now, I am seeking a new creative opportunity that will let me apply to the fullest the expanded skillset and perspective that I have cultivated over the years.
With a background in apparel design and strong expertise in other creative specialties, I bring a wealth of experience to my work. In addition to my entrepreneurial endeavors with Craene Studio + Archive, my professional history includes design roles at Alternative Apparel and Kohl's Department Stores. I am proud to have completed my design education at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, NY, where I earned a bachelor's degree in Technical Design as well as an associate degree in Fashion Design.
My design philosophy revolves around embracing eclecticism and anachronism as driving concepts. In a world obsessed with newness, I aim to answer contemporary design challenges with existing resources whenever possible. I'm constantly exploring new routes toward greater inclusivity, adaptability, and accessibility in design through a casual analysis of consumer insights and market trends.
Outside of work, you can usually find me out and about in Atlanta, GA. I enjoy exploring the city on long hikes, often hunting for vintage treasures at thrift shops or continuing my search for the best cup of coffee in town. I also greatly enjoy weekend visits with close family in Florida or taking it easy at home with my two cats, Gwen and Bob.
I'm always looking for novel ways to incorporate sustainability and inclusivity into my design work. I also find great joy in the mentorship of young designers, fostering creative conversations across generational vantage points. Ultimately, I am forever exploring new concepts and skills, maintaining a learner's mindset and a deep appreciation for genuine connection.
